Timber Expo, part of UK Construction Week, has welcomed British Gypsum to its impressive line up. The leading manufacturer of interior lining systems will be showcasing its range of plasters, partition, wall lining, floor, ceiling and plasterboard systems for the residential, commercial and offsite sectors at the most important show for the timber sector this October.
At the forefront of its market, British Gypsum is perfectly positioned to provide its innovative approach and technical expertise to this year’s Timber Expo. With a comprehensive product range underpinned by a strong heritage in industry development and training, visitors to the British Gypsum stand can gain valuable insight into the technical detailing, products and systems most suitable for their timber frame applications.
“We are looking forward to meeting Timber Expo visitors on our stand,” said Andy Watts, Business Development Manager, from British Gypsum. “This is an important date in the calendar for the timber frame industry and for anyone involved in the design, specification and detailing of buildings using timber systems. Our team of technical experts can provide the necessary knowledge, advice and guidance on the right interior solutions for a fit out that complements the optimum performance of any building.”
British Gypsum joins a packed agenda, which is focused on knowledge and ideas, at Timber Expo. The show promises to deliver a series of insightful seminars addressing the issues most pertinent to the timber industry. TRADA is coordinating the Timber Focus Seminars, which runs 6 – 8 October, covering a broad range of topics and offering the opportunity for real discussion and the chance to meet and share ideas with leading industry figures.
The Timber Focus Seminars will look at the broad context of timber in construction, with an opening discussion on increasing the specification of timber and how this process can be improved. Further seminars will also consider the issues most relevant to different sectors; for example, where the opportunities lie within the self build market. Design inspiration will come from a discussion around the possibilities wood provides - from what is architecturally possible, to the concept of constructing entire towns from timber, drawing from examples elsewhere in the world.
Providing a real melting pot of products and systems, information and ideas, not to mention the opportunity for discussion and networking, Timber Expo brings the timber industry together, under one roof. This includes the industry’s foremost awards. The annual Wood Awards, now in its 12th year, has a new dimension that is unique to Timber Expo this year: the designers and judges will present the 2015 awards shortlist with a discussion addressing what it takes to win an award. Wood in Architecture complements the Wood Awards and will include a judges’ panel discussion covering the most interesting global developments in timber.
Bringing together nine shows under one roof, UK Construction Week will be the biggest construction trade event the UK has seen in years. Taking place at the Birmingham NEC from 6 – 11 October (with the trade only days from 6 – 8 October) the event will unite 1,000 exhibitors with an expected audience of 55,000 visitors.
Visitors will be able to attend the Build Show (incorporating Civils Expo), Timber Expo, the Surface and Materials Show, Energy 2015, Kitchens & Bathrooms Live, Plant & Machinery Live, HVAC 2015, Smart Buildings 2015 and Grand Designs Live.
