The Blackpool Centre for Independent Living required a sheltered seating area within the grounds of their centre in Blackpool which provides support to people with disabilities. They employed a local contractor (Eric Wright Group) who contacted Able Canopies on their behalf. Able Canopies were recommended to Eric Wright Group from a local architect at Cassidy & Ashton.
When Eric Wright Group contacted Able Canopies, they explained that they had viewed the Able Canopies' brochure and was interested in the Ulverston Tensile Umbrella. They explained that it would need to be a size of 4m or 5m square and the waterproof material was a key benefit. The Ulverston Umbrellas is a free standing permanent structure which has a waterproof tensile fabric roof, and so was perfect for the Centre's requirements. The tensile material used is of the highest quality with an unmatched strength and a weight of 590 g/sqm.
A site survey was completed at the Centre and it was established that an Ulverston Umbrella could be installed in the area required. A quotation was sent to the contractor for an 5m x5m Ulverston Umbrella with a white tensile fabric roof , the frame was also to be powder coated in signal white, RAL 9003. The contractor was happy with the price and the benefits offered by Able Canopies and placed an order.
The Ulverston Umbrella requires bolt cages set into the ground for the product to be installed. The Contractor was unsure as to where exactly they wanted the canopy so Able Canopies sent them the bolt cages and allowed the Contractor to place the bolt cages into the ground in their chosen spot. Able Canopies then came onto site as planned and began the installation of the product.
The Umbrella was scheduled to be installed within two days however the installation was completed within just one day, reducing the amount of disruption caused to the Centre. The contractor and the staff at the Centre were very pleased with the service received by Able Canopies and were impressed with their new shade structure.
