Architects can be sure that when they specify Hanson products they are all certified with the new mandatory Construction Products Regulation (CPR) CE mark.
The CPR has replaced the Construction Products Directive and products covered by a harmonised European Standard, manufactured from July 1 2013, need to have the certification mark.
Hanson quality manager Carl Cuthbert said: “The introduction of the new CE mark is part of the continuing efforts of Europe to harmonise standards so that building products manufactured in all EU countries can compete on a level playing field.
“Many of our materials have been CE marked for several years so this certification is a visual acknowledgement of our commitment to quality.”
Products must satisfy seven essential requirements to receive the performance and safety certification, including mechanical resistance and stability, energy economy and heat retention and sustainable use of natural resources.
