Two teams from Aggregate Industries, a leading player in the construction and infrastructure industries, are taking on the Coast 2 Coast Challenge on 19th May 2018 in order to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, which fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life.
The two teams, based in Aggregate Industries’ South West offices, are training hard to compete against each other, with a team of cyclists planning to cycle from Ilfracombe to Tamar Bridge (92 miles) against a runner who plans to run from Boscastle to Tamar Bridge (32 miles). With everyone starting at the same time, the winner will be the first to reach Tamar Bridge.
Those taking part are Jeremy Budd from Ottery St Mary, Alan Edwards from Newton St Cyres, John Edwards from Luxylan, Sean Baker from Looe and Cris Maunder from Plymouth.
Crispin Maunder, Concrete Territory Sales Manager at Aggregate Industries, comments: “In the last few years most of us taking part have lost relatives or had relatives fight cancer, which is why we have chosen to take on this challenge. With prostate cancer being the most common cancer in UK men, we chose this charity as we felt it was particularly significant to the sector we work in. We would appreciate any donations towards this worthwhile cause.”
