In this crisis we find ourselves confined to our homes. Our streets are empty. Buildings normally so precious to us - places of worship, schools, theatres, galleries, museums, shops, our places of work: all shut. Our built environment is protecting us, if we stay at home, but is also barred from us. Our hospitals, and those working in them, are one vital exception: our beacon of hope and the fortitude of the human spirit.
All of you who work in the built environment, who design, engineer, plan, construct and make the materials and products that build our world: you are all seeing at first hand the effect of the crisis on your jobs, lives and families.
As part of the Built Environment Trust, a not-for-profit charity, our mission at the Building Centre is to support people to build a better world. That mission has never been more important than now. When this crisis is over, together we will rebuild our world stronger, safer and better for all humanity.
The Built Environment Trust dedicates itself to be with you as you build that better world.
