The Gran Vía is one of the most symbolic streets in Madrid and it has just been re-opened after a semi-pedestrianization process that lasted 8 months.
The major new feature is the two additional lanes for pedestrians, a total of 5400 new square metres for walking.
Their need:
As it is a very busy street, Madrid City Council needed a drainage system with high drainage capacity, but without forsaking aesthetics, since the new approach was to create a pleasant vehicle-free space for pedestrians in the capital.
Our solution:
Our single-slot grating is in high demand. It is discrete but highly functional, making it the ideal solution for those places where water collection should go undetected, as is the case on the Gran Vía in Madrid. The MultiV+ channels were installed with their optimized V-shaped section providing greater hydraulic efficiency.
