Westbury Windows & Joinery worked closely with architectural designers ‘Back to Front’ on this whole house project. The project's aim was to give this Kent family home a lift from its rather drab 1940’s look, whilst updating the use of space and making the house more energy efficient.
The timber windows specified by the designer were casement. Westbury presented designs with four and six panes dependent upon window scale. All double glazed units, the windows were manufactured using engineered knot-free Redwood, which is extremely durable and stable, giving a long life. They were finished using a micro-porous water based paint in ‘Strong Limewash’ and polished chrome ironmongery completed the contemporary look.
The family also required a new family room leading from the kitchen. An orangery design was submitted and built, reflecting the style of glazing bar to the new windows and matching in colour.
Large french door sets to the rear and a striking new entrance door completed the projects.
This house has been transformed from its former self. The home owner is delighted with the contemporary look, with no more draughty windows and a new living space in the orangery.
